First edition. 8vo; 433pp + [7pp publisher's ads]; gilt-stamped brown cloth, beveled edges; flowered decorative endpapers; b&w portrait frontispiece with facsimile signature and tissue guard; b&w wood engraved illustrations and line drawings; laid-in pencil drawings on old store "Counter Bill"; light scuffing to board edges and light age-toning of paper, a few scattered spots; very good. Divided into three sections: Knitting, Crochet, and Home Decoration, the book gives detailed instruction with illustrations of various types of needlework. Lacking a table of contents, the book has an exhaustive index.
