New York: Henry Holt, 1938. First printing. 184 pp. Interestingly, a slip is tipped in at page 101 stating "Sarah Cone Bryant should be named as the author of Epaminondas, a Southern Nonsense Tale. This story appears in this book by mistake and without the permission of Miss Bryant or her publishers, Houghton Mifflin Company." Worn at the spine ends and corners. The hinges are cracked with mesh holding. A brief gift inscription dated Christmas 1938 is on the front pastedown. Previous owner's bookplate is on the front free endpaper.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Illus. by C. E. Millard. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
