First appearing in "Tom Brown's School Days" by Thomas Hughes in 1857, Flashman was resurrected by Fraser as an "eminent if disreputable adventurer." Includes "The Road to Charing Cross," "The Subtleties of Baccarat," and "Flashman and the Tiger." --- In black paper-covered boards with gilt-stamped spine titling. Dust jacket with A. E. Barbosa color illustration of a wide variety of characters, including Sherlock Holmes. --- Evidence of prior ownership by a public library includes rubberstampings, stickers, acknowledgement of gift donation taped to front free endpaper and mylar jacket protector taped to the boards.
