[London]: The Tea Centre, 1952. First Printing. Stiff Wrappers. Fine-. Scarce booklet, with decorations (vignettes) by Elizabeth Corsellis, on the history of the British relationship with tea. Crown 8vo (183 x 122mm): [2],29,[1], with two leaves of plates (color photographs of the author's tea-related collection of Derby, Worcester, and Chelsea porcelain). Stapled (as issued) in stiff printed wrappers, upper cover printed in blue, red, and gold with title within elaborate cartouche, back cover priced 5s. About Fine (cream-colored back cover lightly dust-soiled and marginally toned). Gervas Huxley, husband of author Elsbeth Huxley, was a British Army officer and a founder of the Ministry of Information. He wrote a more extensive homage to tea in 1956, titled "Talking of Tea," from cultivation of the plant to brewing and drinking of the beverage. by N. B.
