Poe worked in this area in 1844-45, arriving broke at age 35 after leaving a successful career in Philadelphia as editor of Graham's Magazine. The tour highlighted spots that Poe was known to frequent such as Gowan's Antiquarian Bookstore on Nassau Steet, "The Sun" newspaper offices on Fulton Street, etc.

A clean, fresh and remarkably well preserved copy of this very scarce window into the haunts of Whitman, Melville and Poe, brought to life some one-hundred and fifty years after they strolled the streets and avenues below 14th street in New York City.
