The first edition, second printing of this scarce work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924) was an Anglican priest, writer, folk song collector and eclectic scholar and antiquarian. In this work, he has compiled articles concerned with the history of mysticism, accusations against Jews, and religious and racial fanaticism. This is a second printing of Historic Oddities and Strange Events: Second Series under a new title, published in the same year as the first edition, first printing. 47 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally sound, though with a darkened spine, and small patches of damp staining to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright but spotted throughout, with offsetting to the end papers. Very Good
