About This Item

First Edition. Near Fine. Published by the arthor. Maxime Guillot left France after the French revolution when he lost his inheritance. He eventually landed in Dallas in 1853 and opened a wagon shop. He was there, in 1855, to meet the French colonists who were there to start a colony which was La Reunion. They landed in the middle of a drought and the colony failed, but Maxime prospered. Lots of photos and genealogy. The book has a small scratch on the back cover and is very lightly toned, but the corners are square and the pages are clean and unmarked and it appears to be unread.

About mark mcdonald

Book collector for over 30 years. I'm retired and ready to sell. I buy almost exclusively from estate sales and since I've lived in Dallas my whole life, I know the people and where to go. I am a low volume collector and seller and deal in higher quality books. I have a lot of signed and inscribed books. These signatures have not been officially authenticated, but I am confident in their authenticity so I will guarantee them in perpetuity if it can be reasonably demonstrated that the signature is incorrect. .
