About This Item

NY: William R Jenkins. VG book. Bright & tight. Nice cover vignette of two trotters.. (1910). 1st edition.. Hardcover. VG book. Brown cloth. Extrems scuffed. Front panel edge ruled in black. Spine & front w gilt lettered author/title. . Many full page plates of trotter photos. An excellent study done by looking at the hoof prints left on freshly smoothed track. An extremely rare book which has NEVER appeared on ABPC's book auction records, having checked every year back to year of publication. Recently reprinted. An attractive book. Cover extrems scuffed. All gilt as bright as new. Signatures were professionally tightened with new eps added. Internally bright & clean but: some inked underlining in first few chapters. A major flaw: 25 leaves at book's center with a 1" chip in margin of upper spine area, with no text effected. A 1" tear extends from the chips into the page headings, with no loss of letters. .
