In the resulting volume he describes the distinguishing features of antebellum gardens, sources for seed and plants, and dissemination of gardening information and fashion. Book Condition is Fine; green cloth over boards with gold lettering to front and spine. 320pp. First Edition, first printing. Slick, higher quality paper with full color photos on most pages. Included also are garden maps, drawings and sketches. Appendixes, bbibliography, index and illustration credits. Contains a conposite list of Pre-1861 American Nursery Calalogues. Book is tightly bound, clean with no markings, soiling. Square and sharp cornered. Dust Jacket Condition is Fine; clean glossy jacket with a very light touch of shelfwear to heel of jacket. No nicks or tears and no soiling. Covered with a removable mylar dust jacket. Big bright and beautiful.
