A novel based on characters, or their descendants, found in Charles Dickens' novel " Dombey and Son ", and other novels. As the half title page suggests " The Gay-Dombeys, A story compiled from letters, diaries, newspaper cuttings, such positions, recollections, all information; and the papers of the late Sir Eustace Morven.". Bumping and slight fading to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and to the book corners. Shelf wear to the lower book edges. Light browning and foxing to the text block edges. Light browning to the endpapers and some age toning to the internal pages. There is a small split of the front hinge, measuring 0.25 ", the underlying webbing is visible. On the half title page there is very heavy browning. The book covers have become a little dull and quite significant staining to the mid-portion of both the front and rear panels.
