Six-panel brochure folded to 4.75x8.5 inches, bullet points, biographical background, stands on Gay Rights, list of individuals and groups endorsing Blackwell, application to volunteer, lightly-worn on light yellow stock. African American politician who served as a dockworker and as president of the International Longshoremen's Association, Local 1332. He served as a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1973 to 1975, Philadelphia City Council from 1975 to 1991, and the United States House of Representatives from 1991 to 1995.
