It comes with its original dust jacket. This is a scarce book, written by the premier Dutch astrologer of his time, that defines the entire Tarot divination systems with some unique insights into the meanings and interpretations of the cards. The book includes an Introduction by A.E. Waite. "The General Book of the Tarot" delves into the esoteric and mysterious world of Tarot, covering topics such as symbolism, interpretation, and history. The author, A.E. Thierens, is a renowned figure in the occult world and provides unique insights into the Tarot. Adolph Ernestus Thierens ( Brielle, December 20, 1875 - Bussum, December 30, 1941 ) was a Dutch occultist, astrologer and soldier. In 1907 he founded the Netherlands Society for the Study of Astronomy and Modern Astrology, of which he was president until 1922. He is seen as the founder of Dutch astrology. He became known as editor of the astrological magazine Urania. His many publications are not only about astrology but also about Tarot, Theosophy and Freemasonry. Thierens was an esoteric astrologer who approached astrology from a theosophical angle. The society founded by him still exists as a working community of Astrologers. This book is in good condition with some wear to its covers and edges. The binding is tight and the book is complete with no loose pages. The dust jacket has some tears and some of the pages have highlighting and / or underlining. There are pictures of examples of all of this, This item is 8.75 inches tall by 5.75 inches wide.
