Pp. 36(last colophon), the title, several initials and one headline printed in red, frontispiece plus 13 text illustrations; super roy. 4to; qr. vellum, spine lettered in gilt, beige cloth boards, lightly foxed and faintly soiled, with a couple of tiny bruises to edges of boards; t.e.g., others uncut; book label of David Levine, Sydney, on upper pastedown; The Golden Cockerel Press, London, 1934. Edition limited to 277 numbered copies on specially watermarked Batchelor paper. Chanticleer 9l. *Christopher Sandford described this volume as 'Probably the finest example of Robert Gibbings' book illustration' [Chanticleer. p.40].
