First printing, in publisher's red boards with faded gilt spine and upper board lettering, octavo, pp. xiv, 202. Four full-page black and white plates inserted. Other illustrations by Waldine Tauch. Previous owner cursive signature stamp in the book at least twice. Nick at fore-edge of pp. xi/xii. Some outbreaks of foxing, on the text block top edge, on the fore-edge, and in the margins of the inserted plates. Dust jacket with chips and some erosion at spine ends, flap fold points, and perimeter. Sun-toned on spine. A useful copy of an uncommon title, withal. Jacket now ensconced in a new sheet of removable archival mylar. Appleton Popular Health Series.
