About This Item
Middletown: Wesleyan U Press, 1970. 1st edition, full gray cloth, with illustrated dust jacket. A signed copy of the author's first book-length collection of poems. "A steely elegance and precision of style characterize these poems and momentarily mask a readiness for surrealistic flights . . ." (from the jacket notes). The poem that appears on page 36 has been "X"ed out, as have all copies we've encountered. The author has signed "Charles Wright / NYC / October 1988" on the title page in green ink. A fine copy in complete (not price clipped) jacket with very little wear.
