Uniform purplish blind-stamped cloth, yellow eps. Foolscap 8vo (17cm). pp. xi, 412, 8 (1/1856 WM catalog); [iv], 383, [1] colophon, 15 (Index), [1], 8 (1/1856 WM catalog) . Good/No jacket, as issued/Ex-Lib. College withdrawn bookplates, oval stamps and paper spine titles. Corners limp, spine sunned to topboard and faded boards, internally near fine with spots of foxing to several beginning pages. Volume 1 has a shallow chipped head and missing rear ep; Volume 2 has a small dampstain front pastedown, oval stamp on bottom edge and one straightened dogear. Experiential commentary and proverbs on all manner of subjects. Crisp complete working set with sound hinges. (Post as one book)..
