About This Item

Cardiff: University of Wales Press. As New with no dust jacket. 2001. First Edition. Paperback. 0708317073 . In the original publisher's glossy pictorial card covers. No dustjacket as issued. A Presentation copy SIGNED by one of the authors - Don Dale-Jones. (xii) + 336 pp, including Notes, Bibliography and Index. " T. H. Jones (1921-1965) achieved little recognition in Wales or Britain during his lifetime. After publishing his first volume of poetry in 1957, he emigrated to Australia, where his career as a poet and lecturer came to a premature end when he accidentally drowned. This book presents the literary biography of a writer who, the authors suggest, should be thought of as one of the defining poets of mid-20th century Welsh culture, alongside Dylan and R. S. Thomas. Drawing on unpublished sources, such as Jones' hand-written Black Book which contains nearly all his poems in chronological order, and interviews, this book locates T. H. Jones in the development of Anglo-Welsh poetry." ; University of Wales Press - Writers of Wales; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Signed by One Author .
