Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Blue coloured tint to the top textblock edge. Colour illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound) by Brian Botten, with black, red and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A retelling of the mutiny on the ship H. M. S. Bounty, in 1879, when Fletcher Christian mutinied against Captain William Bligh. Based on surviving records both in England and in Pitcairn Island, it retells the mutiny, the personalities, society of the time, but, unlike most retellings, the author looks into the why of the mutiny, and,suggests that there was a hidden secret that caused Christian to mutiny, then set adrift Bligh and 14 other members of the crew on a journey that was almost inevitably to be their death.
