About This Item

Annapolis, MD: Naval Institute Press, 2014. Book. As New. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 9 1/4 h x 6 1/4w. A real nice clean unmarked 246 page first edition hardcover with 2 low in number line. The Great War or the "War to end all wars" as promised by President Woodrow Wilson was neither great nor ultimately conclusive. Precipitated by the assassination of the Austro- Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife in the streets of Sarajevo on June 28, 1914, World War I demolished the order established by the Concert of Vienna, an order that had maintained the peace in Europe for almost a century. The ensuing carnage laid the foundation for World War II and the Cold War that followed. World War I also left in its catastrophic wake three transformational legacies that remain largely unnoticed today. These legacies have provoked and will continue to provoke massive change to the international order..

About Warren's Books

I have been selling books since 1976. I am not a mega-lister that just types in an ISBN and paste a message of how great I am or how many books we\I sell. I list each book carefully trying to tell the faults and positives of our book. Most of the time I will tell what the book is about and list if it a first edition, hardcover or has a dust jacket. Photos of books are usually my scan and not a stock photo. If you have any questions, please ask. If you decide to pay with check or money order, please make it out to Warren Hahn, That's me!! I have about 5,200 books online with another 200 to list.
