About This Item

London: The Folio Society, 1977. Hardcover. First Folio Society issue, hot type on laid-lined paperstock, hardbound in decorated buckram boards under a pressed-Morocco backstrip ruled and lettered in gilt. A fine treatment but spoilt by severe abrasion of the leather spine, a particularly gross scuff having wiped out the author line. In all other respects a handsome presentation with a couple of very old map reproduced as endpapers. Inscribed and signed by the translator (as "William C"). As is.
