1969. A two page manuscript letter signed by Tasha Tudor with stamped envelope. Miss Tudor writes that she is poor in giving information about her work as she never keeps records or clippings of her work and finds gardening as her favorite pastime. Inscribed "Best wishes to you & a/ Happy New Year./ Sincerely/Tasha Tudor. With a charming drawing of a rabbit below.

Moderate shelfwear with frayed spine ends. The spines are a bit darkened. Previous owner's name, dated 1882, is written on both front free endpapers, along with that of a later owner. Vol 1 has a gutter crack at pg. 273. Both volumes have short tears in the cloth at the rear joints.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Each plate with the title printed below the border. 95 line illustrations throughout, some full page. Previous owners neat name on front blank endpaper otherwise a fine copy in original burgundy cloth with gilt illustrations and lettering to front board and spine. Front board with quadruple ruled black borders, spine ruled in gilt. In the scarce original publshers dustwrapper with colour illustration mounted onto the front panel, below black lettering and four line border. Flaps and other panels lettered in black. Original printed price (15/-) on spine has been blacked out neatly. Aside from a couple of tiny chips to the wrapper this is a beautiful fine example of this well produced edition. Scarce in this condition.:
