Phoenix: Metheglin Press, [1996]., 1996. First edition. First edition thus. 8vo. Originally printed in 1872. Pictorial wrappers, [2], vi, xx, 180 pp., glossary. Accident prevention was a primary concern; without antiseptics even minor injuries could cause infections or the loss of a limb. The Pharmacopeia of 1820 does not inspire confidence, nor do blood transfusions or cures for snake bite. It is a miracle that settlers survived these treatments. As new, unread copy.
