Collated, complete.ESTC Citation No. T82473With the bookplate of lawyer and book collector David Stather to the front pastedown of each volume.An impressive eighteenth century historical work, written while Hume was librarian to the Faculty of Advocates in Edinburgh. Many considered it the standard history of England in its day In full calf bindings. Minor losses of leather to back strip heads, with discolouration to heads and tails of back strips of volumes V-VIII. Boards bright. Volume I joints starting, with front board a touch tender. Front joint of volume II, and head of rear joint starting, but firmly held. Volume III, IV, VI, VII joints starting, and firmly held. Head of volume V front joint starting, but firmly held. Volume VIII joints starting, with rear board firm, and front joint tender. Bookplates to front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright, with only the odd spot, most concentrated to plates and pages surrounding them. Very Good
