New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1902. Entirely revised, re-written, and enlarged under the editorship of M. Jourdain and Alice Dryden. With 266 illustrations. 536 pages with index. Green cloth covers with white lace inlay on front cover and gilt lettering on front and spine. Cover corners and edges are bumped and rubbed to boards, joints rubbed, scuffing to cover faces. Spine is creased, stained, faded from sun exposure, spine ends are missing. Ex. library marks include: identification numbers to bottom spine, library bookplate on front inside cover, embossed stamp and numbers on preface page, embossed stamp on various interior pages, checkout sheet on back free endpaper, barcode/due date sticker and pocket envelope on back inside cover. Gilt page edges. Both hinges are reinforced with cloth tape. Spine broken throughout interior. Tears to frontispiece tissueguard. Interior pages are lightly browning along edges, and spine loose.
