About This Item

Dawsons of Pall Mall, London, 1965 reprint of 1931 first edition. Cloth, 8vo, 23 cm,. xviii, 526 pp, ills, facs. From the introduction - ".. I have chosen to be largely biographical, but I have also endeavoured to trace at the same time the growth of medical interest in children and in their diseases, and have reproduced in full some of those first accounts of diseases which are landmarks in the progress of the study of paediatrics. My aim has been to cover the whole field of literature on the medical care of children, up to the end of the eighteenth century, but chiefly with a view to its bearing upon the development of this department of medicine in England. Pictorial bookplate of Robert Mowbray on front pastedown endpaper, spine somewhat faded, otherwise Good.
