New York: Harper & Brothers, 1854. Tenth Edition. Three volumes; octavo (23.5cm.); publisher's brown blind-embossed cloth, gilt spines; engraved portrait frontispieces, three plates in text, including one double-page plate of facsimiles. Boards a bit rubbed at spine ends with very shallow losses, additional minor edge wear at corners, else a Very Good and sound set. Armorial ownership bookplate dated 1856 in manuscript of Thomas Jefferson Coolidge, great grandson of Thomas Jefferson and the last American plenipotentiary to France, appointed by President Harrison in 1892.
