A couple of nicks on the spine are touched up with blue. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Appears to have two identical facsimile title pages tipped in (consequently lacking the original title; the frontis is NOT in facsimile). The text has some moderate foxing throughout. An early owner's blind stamped name is on the first page of the text. There is a folding newspaper article pasted onto the rear pastedown. Hardcover bound in early quarter leather with green and tan marbled paper-covered boards. The binding is rubbed and worn but sound. The leather spine is solid. Rubbing along the edges of the binding, and the corners are bumped and worn to the boards beneath. Hinges secure. Complete with 2 front and 2 rear flyleaves. The text is tone and has occasional foxing or staining but overall is quite acceptable. Text is in German. This work does NOT contain scored music. A rough translation of the title is, "Spiritual Songs: With an Appendix, Consisting of Spiritual and Comforting Songs, by Various Poets." A nice early 19th Century Harrisburg, Pennsylvania imprint.

The binding is rubbed and bumped but sound. Hinges are just a little rubbed but sound and secure. Complete with flyleaves; no owner's inscriptions. Some spotting to the endpapers. The text is toned. A decent copy.

London: Published at the Offices of "Country Life, 1918. Hardcover. Fair. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Folio. 460 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in blue cloth. The binding is quite worn and stained but sound. There is a 2 inch tear on the right side of the headcap at the top of the spine. Rear hinge is starting, and the binding is a bit shaken. All edges gilt. A sound copy with secure hinges. Text is clean. tipped in color frontis. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. SIgned on the half title by William Lanier Hunt. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996) was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture." He donated land along the Morgan Creek in southern Orange County, NC to the North Carolina Botanical Garden and is now known as the Hunt Arboretum.

The front and rear covers have pale spotting, and the spine is toned. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Top edge gilt. Endpapers foxed. Text is toned but generally clean with a bit of foxing near the photographic plates. Complete with the folding map at the rear. The map has some brief tears at the edges of the folds. Quite scarce.

Lexington VA: Historic Lexington Foundation, 1981. Soft cover. Very Good. Oblong Quarto. 190 pages, indexed. Softcover bound in illustrated wrappers. Moderate rubbing and wear to the binding. Text is clean. The bulk of the book is comprised of different branches of the family trees with charts on every page. The charts look to have been done originally by hand in a very neat hand. A scarce genealogical tree of the families of Stonewall Jackson and of his two wives, Elinor Junkin and Mary Anna Morrison of North Carolina.

Staunton, Virginia: Press of Caldwell-Sites Company, 1908. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavo. 336 pages. Hardcover bound in 3/4 brown leather with brown marbled paper-covered boards. The binding is worn but sound. The leather is starting to get dry but is still holding. There is a little splitting to the leather on the rear outer hinge near the foot of the spine. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Untrimmed fore edge has some brown stains that stay on the edges of the margins. A couple of handwritten dates are written in pencil on the last page of text. Contains several illustrations, mostly portraits.

The binding is quite rubbed and worn. The front board has damping. Rear board has smudges and scuffs. Some pages are damped have smudging. Text is foxed. No copyright date, but the book was published in 1903. An early owner's inscription on front flyleaf reads, "To Thomas (?) from Katherine Kelby. / Feb. 19, 1905." We have found a listing of this book for sale in the December, 1903 advertisements of "The Theosophical Forum." The advertisement in that journal of this book states, "The dawn of a new day in the intellectual and spiritual development of the child. These stories, which embody the higher laws of being, are so simply told that the youthful mind can easily comprehend them. Between each story is an exquisite 'Moonlight Lullaby.'" Italy: N.p., 1873. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Oblong Quarto measuring just about 9 inches long by 6 1/2 inches tall. The binding is a white hardcover made to look like vellum (but is likely treated paper-covered boards) and has cover designs and lettering embossed in gilt. All edges red. Some of the thick pages are a bit wavy about the edges. The binding is soiled and bumped but is sound. There is some cracking to the front and rear hinges near the headcap. The front cover is stamped "ROMA" There is not date in the volume, but the images appear to be late 19th century. Image #46 is dated (printed along with the image in the margin) 1873. Although the front cover states "Roma", the images appear to be mostly from Pisa, Naples and Pompeii and contains some scenery as well as a number of images of art from museums.
