Walter Burre. Collectible - Good. Condition: Good; Hardcover. Bound in full contemporary calf. Five raised bands and black leather label on spine. 4th edition 1628. Engraved title page from 1614 Edition followed by 1628 title page which has the engraved Raleigh portrait used in frontis of other editions. This copy has all 8 double page maps, the last two being battle plans. Maps in good condition. 26 page Chronological table at rear followed by Table of Contents. Bookplate of Sir William Coles Medlycott, Ven House on front pastedown and his signature on first blank page. 1823 inscription on verso of 1614 title page. Also laid in is a copy Sir Walter Raleigh's letter to his wife prior to his execution. The book is in Good condition. Front cover is detached but held on by internal binding tape. Back cover solid. There is some pencil underlining and notating throughout but mostly in first part of text otherwise internal pages in good shape. Chip missing from top of spine. Photos upon request.
