"The amendment is but another step in furtherance of the policy which has been pursued by the American people towards the millions of persons suddenly delivered from slavery by a civil war of unparalleled magnitude." 8vo, 29 pp, 1/4 red leather and marbled paper hard covers with gilt text and stamped deco on black title block on front cover. Rubbed along spine and chipped at head. Paper cover small 1/2 " chip where leather meets paper, edges rubbed. Interior clean, spine tight.
