E.P. Dutton, New York, 1932. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Photographic and Maps. publishers' foreword, list of illustrations, list of maps and index. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece, showing "130 lbs of ivory". The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography, gleaned from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales own camera and by others. There are three foldout maps within the text, the first is a three-page foldout map showing East Africa and the Sudan, the second map, again three pages, showing Congo and the Sudan, and the last is five pages, showing Kenya, Tanganyika and Uganda and the routes taken on the expeditions. All maps are in colour. Brown coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed decoration to the front panels and gilt titles to the backstrip. The reminiscences of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales (later the Duke of Windsor) on two expeditions into East Africa to hunt game. Softening of the backstrip and a little fraying to the backstrip corners. Rubbing to the book corners and to the lower book edges. Bumping to the lower corners. A little sunning to the backstrip. Browning and foxing to the textblock edges, endpapers and internal pages. The rear map has been damaged – where it fixes to the internal text there has been a tear measuring 4 ".
