Clark Hulings received an invitation from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City to create a major collection of new works for an historic one-man exhibition and sale to be held at the Cowboy Hall. He selected thirty-five oil paintings for the show and that collection appears in this book. The viewer can see the influence of an early childhood in Spain. Hulings, who now resides in Santa Fe, has poignantly portrayed the weathered adobes, the village people, the burros laden with their loads, the cobblestone streets, the laborers in distant fields.
