This first volume of the catalogue raisonné offers a complete vision of the graphic work of independent non-conformist artist Camargo (b. Brazil 1914-1994) considered one of the most sensitive, disciplined, innovative artists of the 20th century. The publication follows the artistic evolution, techniques and the aesthetic elements of Camargo's prints, from his first engraving experiences in Rio de Janeiro in 1940 until his final works in 1994, including the artist's rare woodcuts, monotypes and book illustrations. The complete catalogue the work developed by a team of researchers coordinated by Mônica Zielinsky who interpreted, organized, classified and catalogued the Ibere Camargo Foundation collection which houses many of the 7 thousand works , documents and other material regarding the artist. Includes a glossary of printing technical terms and an extensive bibliography.
