About This Item
New Haven CT: Yale University Press, 1919. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Dust Jacket. A Good copy in brown cloth lettered in gold, with glue-mends to paper tears at the gutters, and light cloth wear at the spine tip. The binding is sound, the text is clean/unmarked, and not ex-library. No dust jacket. A 4-page handwritten letter from the author's father to his brother (the author's uncle) is laid in, quoting fulsome praise of the book from "Professor Lewis of Lewis Institute here" (Chicago). Almost certainly he is Professor Edwin Herbert Lewis, whose papers are kept at the University of Chicago. Inscribed at the front endpaper: "With the affectionate regards of the author, April 12, 1919", but not actually signed.
