Originally isued in parts, 100 copies subsequently issued as bound volumes. 15 parts in 1, modern cloth, original printed wrappers bound in, skiver spine-label, small 4to, 25 cm,. 712 pp, 7 colour plates, several black-and-white plates (some folding), in total 676 ills. 5,721 entries. Much less frequently seen than Pickering & Chatto's earlier catalogue of 1902. A contemporary advertisement for a cumulated volume of this work stated: "The above Catalogue (originally published in 15 monthly parts, and now out of print) has been issued in response to the desires of numerous applicants who desire to possess the work COMPLETE in one volume. ONLY 100 COPIES HAVE BEEN PRINTED, of which, at the time of going to press, but six remain for sale..this Edition must speedily become out of print, and will not be reprinted. " Our copy having been rebound, we are not sure whether it represents a compilation of the original wrappered parts or else one of the 100 copies issued as bound volumes. All the colour plates and many of the black-and-white plates illustrate bookbindings. Contents agetoned throughout, minor loss to the fore-edges of one or two leaves, otherwise Good.
