New York: W.W. Munsell & Co., 1880. This antique leather bound oversize hardcover history of Delaware County, NY has a brown cloth cover with brown leather spine, gilt page edges at all sides. Spine is missing, looks to have been previously repaired. Cover shows soil and spotting, some edgewear. Enpapers show some soil and wear. Textblock is generally clean and crisp, with a touch of browning. Binding is solid. Printed on heavy, sturdy paper. Tissue-covered frontispiece depicts the County Courthouse in Delhi, N.Y., and there are many more full-page illustrations, engravings and maps depicting points of interest throughout Delaware County, many of which can still be seen to this day. The book begins with a history of the Native Americans who once inhabited the area, and goes on to give individual histories of many of the towns in the area, as well as biographies of notable figures from each town and village. A comprehensive and unique reference. 363 pages; Inner hinges have been reinforced with blue tape.. Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket. Illus. by Yes. 11.5"x14".
