About This Item

Bradley & Russell, Harrison, 1923, 1923. First Edition. Soft cover. Good. Printed wraps. 144pp. 1 page Introduction dated Harrison, Ark., Nov. 20, 1923, beginning, "Contained in this little volume are all the available facts connected with the strike of Union Employees which occurred on the Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad, during February and March, 1921." 1 page Foreword: "The book is a home-made product, compiled and printed under all the trying circumstances incident to inexperience and the lack of proper facilities." "The matter first appeared in serial form in the Boone County Headlight." Gooden's 1926 history of the strike refers to this in his short bibliography: "Largely a compilation of documents, first published in the Boone County Headlight and later printed in book form from the same type." Condition: Bound with three metal rivets. Wrapper cover is detached & has one minor chip. Back cover & two leaves (one printed & one blank) detached with narrow slice of page missing at binding (no print loss) & a 1" tear at same location. I have decided that the buyer should make decision either to restore, rebind, or place in archival folder as is. Couple of interior pencil marks. Text lighly browned but very supple. Rare.
