About This Item
This solid actor and tap dancer of the 1930s and '40s gave up pictures for politics, serving as senator from California from 1964 to 1970. IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., n.d. Fine. Flat finish printed portrait of Murphy while senator, nicely inscribed in green ink "To Terry / with my best wishes / George Murphy." Comes with an ALS, 1p, 7" X 10½", n.p., 1985 July 15. Addressed to "Fan." Asks where the fan "found the pictures with Astaire in the full dress suits -- I would like to have one for my collection."
