London: Faber and Faber, 1997. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. 8vo. First printing. Black boards with gilt lettering to spine. Corners of the boards are lightly bumped, book otherwise in excellent condition. Dust jacket very good, unclipped. This copy from the collection of Canadian writer Greg Gatenby, his neat ownership signature to front endpaper. Inscribed by Peter Carey to Greg; For Greg- the ugliest book ever produced, Peter Carey 2/28/01. Carey was not a fan of the jacket's design for this edition, he made this clear with this inscription. Association copy, neat inscription.
