1904 1st ed Japan HUGE Russo-Japanese WAR Asia Korea Military Photos FOLIO

'Japan: Her Strength and Her Beauty' contains photographs of the Japanese armed forces, portraits of military and naval officers and other governmental officials plus scenes of Japan at the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War. This book was written to give a clear picture of Japan as it existed in the late 19th and early 20th century and how it came to be that way, depicting not only war over Korea and the Emperor, but temples, pagodas, jinrikishas, tea houses, gardens, sacred bridges, wrestlers, workmen, women, art, architecture, religion, and much more!

This 1904 first edition is profusely illustrated with photographs and drawings by Henry Reuterdahl, Fletcher Ransom, Sidney Adamson and Genjiro Yeto, with an original cover design by J. Leyendecker.
