Raleigh: Wm. E. Pell, Printer to the State, 1866. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavo. 151; 224; 97; 129, x pages (with 10-page Index for all four works at the rear of the last section). Four titles published as one work with separate pagination (but it is not four separately published works later bound together). Rebound in 20th century burnt sienna buckram. New endpapers. Light wear to the binding, which is housed in a removable clear mylar jacket. The text is browned, often heavily so in the last three sections, and is foxed. There is a ghost of a signature on the first title page from a flyleaf which is no longer present. There are a few little damp stains which indicate that the 4 works in the book had been bound together since the 19th century and then rebound in the 20th century. Although printed in 1866, it covers the machinations of the NC Senate and House in the final years of the War. Rare.

Description:
Halifax: Printed by Abraham Hodge, 1799. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. 8vo. 502, (18) pages. Hardcover bound in original full leather. The binding is worn and scuffed but sound. Some of the scuffing on the binding has deep gouges, especially on the rear cover where a strip of leather is missing along the fore edge. Hinges are secure, but there is a strip of old cloth book tape on the front inner hinge, and some of the last few leaves of the index are stuck together at the gutter. This does not really affect the text but there might have been some adhesive applied there. Corners bumped. Contains the front and rear blank flyleaves. There is an early ink signature on the front pastedown which appears to be "L. Silliman" (possibly Levi Silliman? 1797-1867. He was the second Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in North Carolina). "L. Silliman" also is written in light pencil on the rear pastedown, next to an early ink notation of "Haywood." There also a couple of bolder early 20th…
