About This Item
Synopsis
"When Love cast me out, it was Cruelty who took pity upon me" Terre d'Ange is a nation built of wandering angels, a nation that weeps at beauty and embraces the decadence that surrounds them. Phedre was born with a scarlet mote in her left eye and given a bad-luck name...a whore's unwanted get, turned over to a life of servitude in the Court of Night Blooming Flowers. When her indentured servitude is purchased by a strange nobleman, she finds the ceiling of her world vaulted to new heights. Exquisite courtesan, tool of the Gods, spy, scholar, and quite the unlikely heroine, Phedre must do what she can to save her beloved homeland no matter how much pain she will endure.
Reviews
Should you be a romantic soul, should you weep at beautiful music, should you enjoy deep draughts of wine, you will appreciate the world of Terre D'Ange.Phedre is a bit of a "Mary Sue," but it's easy to forgive her and roll with the lush and vivid tale of her early life and the many steps that make her an unlikely heroine. There is plenty of political intrigue as well as rather dark, sexy scenes - what else, when the main character is a courtesan who feels pleasure in pain?"It's funny, how one can look back on a sorrow one thought one might well die of at the time, and know that one had not yet reckoned the tenth part of true grief."
