Copy has original owner's name and date (Nov. 2, 1916) on front flyleaf; else would classify as in Fine Condition. Boards are Dark Green with Gild Lettering and embossed pattern on front cover and lettering on spine. Boards and pages are clean, unmarked, bright, tightly bound and sharp cornered. Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. "The novelist Mrs. Humphry Ward (Mary Arnold Ward), was the niece of the poet Matthew Arnold, and granddaughter of Dr. Thomas Arnold, the headmaster of Rugby School who was immortalized as a character in the novel Tom Brown's Schooldays.
