Paul Hamlyn, 1972. Black cloth hardcover with silver gilt lettering on spine. Endpages have black and white photo of some ancient carvings. Text is pristine with many many photographs. Dust jacket has medieval tapestry on dark red background. Middle bottom front has a crudely repaired small tear. Small piece missing on back upper right corner along fold, small tear on opposite side.
