Dent/ Dutton (Everyman's Library), 1966. Good. Small 8vo., 19cm, pp.411, 8. 1966 reprint of original Everyman's Library edition of 1908 (itself from the first 1857 edition of Gaskell's biography). Green cloth boards with gilt lettering and bands to spine. Illustrated endpapers. Corners bumped, light shelf wear and soiling. Browning to upper edge, small stain to head of text block for first 70 pages. Else, a tight, bright copy. Everyman's Library, no.318. Introduction by May Sinclair (Mary Amelia St. Clair, 1863-1946), British popular novelist, modernist critic and suffragist.
