Frontispiece Illustrated with a Full Page Chromolithograph Plate showing 2 little Girls in Japanese Costume "a joke in Japanese". First Story is "a Race with Death" by, David Ker. Well Illustrated througout, with 14 beautiful Full Page Colour Chromolithograph Plates, and many Monochrome and B&W Plates and In-Text Illustrations. Book is in 2 sections each with its own Title, Frontis and Contents. 2nd Frontis illustrated with a Colour Plate of a boy & girl carrying a little girl by the sea shore. 473 Pages + 475 Pages = 948 in total in the one volume. Imitation Half-Leather Binding with Gilt title on Red leather ground to spine. Green cloth covered boards with dimpled texture. Title Page Illustrated with a little boy running. 9 1/2" Tall. Some edge wear & chipping & loss of colour to cloth (see photo). Hinges sound & Binding firm. Pages & Illustrations in very good, clean condition, only a few occasional spots of foxing. Newark Etc.: Charles A Graham & Co, 1925. Hardcover. Good Condition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾. The covers with their divine child portrait on front are in excellent shape albeit with a touch of wear at spine and corners and slight spotting just apparent on front. Front hinge is weakening but still functions, rear hinge more solid. Pencil dedication on flyleaf, interior very nice and clean throughout and complete with frontispiece. First two pages have a a few small tears.
