The first edition of Maurice Gorham's entertaining satire on London pubs, illustrated with colour plates. The first edition of this work. Sought after but hard to find in an acceptable condition. Here in a rather better than usual condition with the flyleaves from the original dust wrapper. With the original flyleaves of the scarce dust wrapper.An entertaining work on the pubs of London, a satirical and humorous work.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one double-paged colour plate, and thirteen colour plates.Written by Maurice Graham, an Irish journalist.Illustrated with lithographs by Edward Ardizzone.Ink inscription to the front pastedown. In the original publisher's paper covered boards, in the original flyleaves of the dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Light marks to the boards and spine. A little loss to the head of the spine. Minor bumping to the tail of the spine. Flyeaves are dampstained with some spots. Tape to the reverse of the flyleaves. Ink inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a few odd spots. Very Good
