Paris: A. Quantin, 1883. First edition. A delightful work, praising the parasol (along with gloves and muffs!) was published a year after Uzanne's work in praise of umbrellas. Illustrated by Paul Avril, with numerous compositions in the text and in different tones (Sepia, blue/grey etc.) Softcover, with a silk covered "Shirt" protection. The book is in perfect condition. The top edge of the "shirt" has been split, and now repaired with archival tape. The rear lace closures are missing. There are some foxing spots to the last few pages. Overall though in lovely original condition. 138 pp. 273 x 175mm . 138 pages 273 x 175 mm
