The spine has five raised bands with decoration and titles in gilt, 268pp. All edges gilt, with ribbon bookmark. Condition: As new. *** The story of Sally Miller (c1814 - ?), an American slave in who successfully won a Supreme Court case, Miller v. Belmonti (1845), arguing for her freedom. The argument was that she had been born as Salomé Müller and emigrated with her family from Germany as an indentured servant, not a slave.. Special Edition for the Classics of Law Library.
