The First Edition is selling this rare and very collectable first edition first issue book by Mabel Lucie Attwell, Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales, published by Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd in 1914.____The original pictorial boards are in Very Good condition with light rub marks and wear to the edges. The original brown cloth spine has lettering in black and is still extremely attractive with only slight knocks to the top and bottom and very light creasing. An attractive set of boards.____There are 140 numbered pages with 4 page catalogue to the end, and 12 full colour full page illustrations by Mabel Lucie Attwell, and original decorated endpapers. The pages are in Very Good condition with the colour plates in superb clean and bright condition. There is slight bubbling and lifting to the front pastedown and slight bubbling to the rear pastedown. The front pastedown has a box "This Book Belongs To" which has not been completed, but there is an inscription in a neat hand to the top of the illustrated Half Title Page dated "Xmas 1915"____This is a beautiful example of the Mabel Lucie Attwell first edition book Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales from 1915 which rarely appears on the market for sale..
