About This Item

Prague, Czechoslovakia: Panton, 1980. Assumed First Edition . LP Record in Jacket. Very Good/Very Good. 12.25" x 12.25. 8110 0028. The excellent Moravian Symphony Orchestra of Olomouc, ably conducted by Jaromir Nohejl and Vit Micka, here offers two remarkable works by Czech composers: Martinu's Sixth Symphony, subtitled "Symphonic Fantasies", is in three movements: Lento, Poco Allegro, and Lento. Isa Krejci, virtually unknown outside his native land, is here represented by his neoclassic Fourteen Variations on the Folk Song "Nenia [Lament] for the Lost Spouse". Liner Notes are in Czech, except for a paragraph in English about the orchestra. CONDITION: A Very Good LP record [not a CD!] in a Very Good jacket (with moderate edge/corner/ring-wear). The LP - tested and cleaned before listing - plays without skips or snags, but with general light-to-moderate surface noise. [The Krejci side - about 3/4 through - has a 10-15" area with a few pops, while the Martinu side has a few random pops.] ***A fresh anti-static inner sleeve replaces the plain/blank original - and the jacket is nestled in a clear outer sleeve. Securely packed and promptly mailed for ultra-safe shipping globally! [This program is not available in CD format.]
